Therapeutic Parent Support
About
Parents can sometimes find themselves feeling unsure how best to support their child, particularly when a child is struggling with anxiety, behaviour, or emotional difficulties. This may show itself in family life feeling tense, usual strategies no longer working, or maybe feeling stuck in how to respond. Therapeutic parent support offers you space to think about these difficulties with the support of a therapist
You will be supported to develop a clearer understanding of what may be driving some of the behaviours you are seeing. This might include thinking about family dynamics, what may be contributing to current difficulties, or how best to help your child access the right therapeutic support.
Who can benefit from Therapeutic Parent Support?
This support can be helpful for parents of children and young people who may be experiencing anxiety, emotional dysregulation, school difficulties, friendship challenges, low self-esteem, or the impact of neurodevelopmental differences.
Your child may or may not have a formal diagnosis, or you may be waiting for an assessment and wanting support in the meantime. Parents do not need to be in crisis to benefit from this work; it can simply provide a thoughtful space to reflect and feel better supported in your parenting role.
Our Approach
Our work is collaborative and grounded in psychological and developmental understanding. We think together about your child, your family context, and what changes would feel most helpful, agreeing clear and realistic goals for the work together.
Sessions usually take place on a fortnightly basis and can be offered either in person or online.
As Integratis is a collaborative clinic, you will be supported in accessing any other support that could be helpful as we believe that your physical and mental health are crucial to your sense of wellbeing as a parent.
