Support for Adopted and Looked After Children

Specialist therapeutic support for adopted children, young people and their families, helping you navigate the unique challenges of adoption with understanding and compassion.

When might adoption support help?

Adoption can bring unique challenges. Many adoptive parents describe feeling uncertain about how best to support a child who has experienced early adversity, loss or trauma. As children grow and develop, new questions and challenges can emerge, leaving families feeling overwhelmed or unsure where to turn.

At The Integratis Clinic, we provide specialist therapeutic support for adopted children, young people and their families. Whether you are seeking therapy for your child, therapeutic support as a parent or guidance in understanding your family's experiences, we tailor our approach to your individual needs.

Our approach

Every adoptive family has a unique story, and no two journeys are the same. We understand that children's experiences before adoption, alongside their development, relationships and current environment, all influence how they experience the world today.

Rather than focusing only on the difficulties your family may be facing, we take time to understand the wider picture. By bringing together your child's history, strengths, relationships and current experiences, we develop a shared understanding that helps guide the most appropriate support.

Whether this involves therapy for your child, therapeutic support for parents or a combination of both, our aim is to help your family move forward with greater understanding, stronger relationships and increased confidence.

What to expect

We begin with a free 15-minute telephone consultation to understand your concerns and answer any initial questions.

Following this, we will arrange an initial consultation to explore your family's experiences, understand the challenges you are facing and discuss the most appropriate recommendations. Where therapy is appropriate, we will guide you through the assessment process and agree a plan tailored to your family's needs.

Throughout support, we work closely with parents and review progress regularly. If we feel additional support or an onward referral would be beneficial, we will discuss this with you and support your family every step of the way.
